Waiting on Wednesday #10: Venom

Waiting on Wednesday is an awesome weekly meme hosted by
Jill from Breaking the Spine.

Venom by Fiona Paul
Genre: Historical Fiction, Young Adult
Release Date: 30th October 2012

Cassandra Caravello is one of Renaissance Venice’s lucky elite: with elegant gowns, sparkling jewels, her own lady’s maid, and a wealthy fiancé, she has everything a girl could desire. Yet ever since her parents’ death, Cassandra has felt trapped, alone in a city of water, where the dark and labyrinthine canals whisper of escape.

When Cass stumbles upon a murdered woman—practically in her own backyard—she’s drawn into a dangerous world of courtesans, killers, and secret societies. Soon, she finds herself falling for Falco, a mysterious artist with a mischievous grin... and a spectacular skill for trouble. Can Cassandra find the murderer, before he finds her? And will she stay true to her fiancé, or succumb to her uncontrollable feelings for Falco?

Beauty, love, romance, and mystery weave together in a stunning novel that’s as seductive and surprising as the city of Venice itself.

Ehem, I actually chose this book for the sake of it's GORGEOUS cover, it would just look a-mazing on my bookshelf, wouldn't it? Plus, I really enjoy historical fiction novels and would love to read more ;)

So what books are you drooling over this week? And do you think of my pick? Leave me a comment down below or a link to your own post which I'll be sure to check out :D

Every time I see this book I can't take my eyes off of the cover and then when I read the summary again my excitement vanishes. It's not that it doesn't sound interesting, it does, I just don't like the idea... Too bad. I hope you enjoy it!
