On My Wishlist #6

On My Wishlist is an awesome weekly meme hosted by Cosy Books ( originally by Book Chick City ), it runs every Saturday. It's a place where you can put up all the books you're desperate to read, but haven't actually bought them yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. And, even better, everyone can join in with too, because there's a Mr Linky so you can put your post up.

THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY (Summer #1)
Author: Jenny Han
Genre: YA
Published: 5 May 2009

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along

A fun quick summer read. Heard good reviews about it.

Lisel & Po
Author: Lauren Oliver
Genre: Fantasy, YA
Published: 4 October 2011

Liesl lives in a tiny attic bedroom, locked away by her cruel stepmother. Her only friends are the shadows and the mice—until one night a ghost appears from the darkness. It is Po, who comes from the Other Side. Both Liesl and Po are lonely, but together they are less alone.

That same night, an alchemist's apprentice, Will, bungles an important delivery. He accidentally switches a box containing the most powerful magic in the world with one containing something decidedly less remarkable.
Will's mistake has tremendous consequences for Liesl and Po, and it draws the three of them together on an extraordinary journey.
From New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver comes a luminous and magnificent novel that glows with rare magic, ghostly wonders, and a true friendship that lights even the darkest of places.

I'm a huge Lauren Oliver fan and so I have to read this book, sounds like fun.

That was mine !! What about your Wishlist ?
Leave me a link to your blog post or a comment down bellow which I'll be sure to check out ;)

+JMJ+

I'm more into Middle Grade than Young Adult these days, so of these two, I'd go for Liesl & Po. =) Sometimes I just want the female lead and the male lead to be good platonic friends and not boyfriend and girlfriend, you know?

Here's what just got added to my wishlist this week:

Yeah, I get you, I haven't read a story with no romance in it for a long while now, platonic friends in stories seems to be alittle bit rare... ;) But thanks for stopping by, glad you did and welcome to Book-A-Holic :D

NOTE: I haven't been commenting on other blogs lately because my laptop's charger is broke so until I get a new one I am using another computer but I guess there is something wrong with it because I can't leave comments on other blogs at all so sorry about that but I'll try and fix that asap. Thank you!
